Maoist who blew up 14 security personnel shot dead in Gadchiroli

Maoist deputy commander Durgesh Watti, who engineered the 2019 Jambulkheda landmine blast that blew up 14 security personnel, was shot dead on Thursday by C-60 commandos in the dense Bodhintola forest in Gadchiroli along the Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border. Two more guerrillas were also killed in the hour-long encounter. The body of one of the two is yet to be recovered. Watti, who led the Kasansoor dalam, carried a Rs 8-lakh bounty on his head.
