BSP president Mayawati demands Bharat Ratna for Kanshi Ram

BSP Chief Mayawati has called for the country's highest civilian honor, Bharat Ratna, to be conferred upon party founder and Dalit leader Kanshi Ram. This demand comes a day after the Modi government awarded Bharat Ratna to socialist icon Karpoori Thakur. Mayawati, in a series of posts, welcomed the decision to honor Thakur, acknowledging his contributions as the two-time CM of Bihar. She highlighted the comparable contributions of Thakur and Kanshi Ram in the social and economic upliftment of marginalized communities, emphasizing Kanshi Ram's historic role in empowering Dalits and neglected sections of society.
