Goa leopard count dips to 77, but big cats straying farther

The leopard population in Goa has decreased to 77, with 26% residing outside protected areas. Cases of leopards entering human habitations are rising. The census conducted by the Goa forest department, National Tiger Conservation Authority, and Wildlife Institute of India found higher leopard density in Mhadei and Mollem forest patches.
