Why NCP (SP) is finding it difficult to blow its trumpet

The NCP (SP) has been vigorously campaigning to ensure their new symbol, depicting a man playing a 'tutari', resonates with voters ahead of the polls. However, they face challenge of independent candidates in the state choosing symbols that bear a striking resemblance to their official Marathi symbol. EC designated the 'man blowing turha' as the polling symbol for NCP (SP).
