(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Regarding regional issues, Safadi said, "We all agree in our approaches to it. The Palestinian issue is our key issue. We all want a just, comprehensive peace that meets all the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, especially the right to its independent and sovereign state with the occupied Jerusalem as its capital on pre-June 4, 1967 borders.""We all want a region free of tensions and regional relations based on the principle of good neighborliness, respect for others and non-interference in their affairs, and we all stand together against terrorism, we all seek to reach a political solution that ends the disaster in Syria, preserves Syria's security and stability, and restores its security and well-being and its main role in our region," he added."I hope that today we have been able to make some progress in preparing for a summit agenda that will be of great significance in terms of its outcomes and in terms of its message of support and solidarity with brotherly Iraq," Safadi concluded.In turn, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry thanked the Iraqi government for the call for holding this important meeting.He "thanked both the foreign minister of Iraq and the foreign minister of Jordan, the two leaderships and the two peoples, for the solidarity and sympathy they expressed for the Sohag train accident, which express brotherhood, solidarity, a sense of destiny and the unity of the future.""Our meeting today came within the framework of preparing for the upcoming trilateral summit of the trilateral cooperation mechanism between Egypt, Iraq and Jordan, and we look forward to holding it in Baghdad at the earliest opportunity, culminating in the hard work and great effort made by the governments of the three countries during the past months at various levels since the last summit in Amman in August 2020, in implementation of its outputs and the directives of the political leadership on the need to strengthen and intensify cooperation and coordination between our three countries in order to achieve the well-being of the three peoples and their feeling of tangible returns from this cooperation and this mechanism.""We discussed today the various aspects of trilateral cooperation and the projects proposed for implementation between the three countries in the economic and commercial fields in their comprehensive sense, specifically in the fields of energy, electricity, health, agriculture, industry, food and medicinal cooperation, construction and building," Shoukry added.
