(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Shoukry said, "We discussed the importance of continuing work to maintain Arab water security, whether with regard to Egypt in relation to the issue of the Nahda (Renaissance) Dam, or regarding the water needs of brotherly Iraq, and we also addressed the need to work to preserve Arab national security away from interventions outside the Arab region, which have an impact on Arab national security and joint action in this regard."For his part, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein welcomed his Jordanian and Egyptian counterparts, and said, "We discussed several topics to complement the previous meetings held in Cairo and Amman at the level of leaders of the three countries and in preparation for the Baghdad summit to be held at a later time during the coming period with the aim of achieving the common interests of the three countries."The Iraqi Foreign Minister touched on a number of discussed topics related to strengthening political coordination, combating terrorism, facing challenges in the region and regional issues of common interest, including the Palestinian issue, the Syrian crisis, the war on terrorism, and developments in Yemen and Libya.Hussein said, "We stressed the importance of holding the trilateral meeting periodically to coordinate positions and policies between the three countries."With regard to the economic aspect of the trilateral cooperation mechanism, Hussein said, "We touched upon cooperation in the field of industrial integration, rehabilitating Iraqi factories, and emphasizing the priority industrial sectors to enhance cooperation between the three countries and in the pharmaceutical industries, veterinary medicines, agricultural pesticides, leather, clothing and chemical industries."Hussein added that the meeting discussed the joint Jordanian-Iraqi economic city, the electrical linkage project, the oil pipeline project from Basra to Aqaba, the agricultural field and food security, transportation projects, and construction projects.
