(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Amman, Mar. 31 (Petra) -The Ministry of Health announced 111 Covid-19 fatalities and 6, 570 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Wednesday, bringing the death toll to 6,858 and the caseload to 611, 577.The new infections comprised 2, 720 cases in the capital, Amman, 1, 110 in Irbid, including 118 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 546 in Zarqa, 443 in Balqa, 343 in Mafraq, 286 in Karak, 285 in Ajloun, 251 in Aqaba, 220 in Jerash, 156 in Tafileh, 138 in Ma'an , including 20 in Petra region, and 72 in Madaba, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.The statement added that there are currently 91, 575 active COVID-19 cases in Jordan.The number of hospitalizations today stood at 441, while 368 patients have recovered and discharged, the statement noted.According to the briefing, the total number of recoveries recorded Wednesday, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 9,192, bringing the total to 513,144 since the outbreak began.Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 3, 350.The statement also indicated that occupancy of the total ICU bed capacity has hit 75%, 81%, and 37% in the northern, central and southern regions, respectively.With regard to testing, 43,158 tests were conducted Wednesday, 15.22 percent of which were positive.Since last March, the total number of tests administered has increased to 5,918,158, the joint statement noted.
