Jordanian army claims Prince Hamza not detained, but demanded to cease activities

(MENAFN) On Saturday, Apr. 3 reports that Prince Hamza bin al-Hussein had been arrested were negated by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of Jordan's army Yousef Huneiti who stated that the prince has been demanded to stop all activities employed to attack the "country's security and stability." The state-run Petra news agency reported that the action is in the course of inclusive joint investigations carried out by the security apparatuses, which led to the capture of royal family member Sharif Hassan Ben Zeid, and ex-minister Bassem Awadallah, amongst others. Huneiti noted that probes are in progress, confirming that the revelation of the results will be done in a clear and transparent way. He emphasized that all taken procedures were lawful and made after careful probes.
