Clashes leave 58 people dead in Yemeni oil-rich Marib

(MENAFN) According to a military official, clashes between the Saudi-supported Yemeni administration forces and the Houthi rebels strongly raged over the control of Yemen's oil-rich province of Marib in the last 24 hours. "Ferocious armed confrontations occurred during the past 24 hours as the government forces attempted to repulse an all-out Houthi offensive against Marib," stated the local military official to demanded anonymity. The Houthi military attack was effectively stopped by the administration forces backed by dozens of local tribesmen after multiple hours of severe clash. He further said that the fierce fighting led to the death of almost 25 soldiers of the administration forces and a number of 33 members of the Houthi outfit thus far.
