(MENAFN - The Peninsula) Doha: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, H E Dr. Ghaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari, has said that Islamic cultural security required a slew of measures and development of education system is on top of it. 'Education system must be developed in the Islamic world in a way that ensures the ummah's benefit from its intellectuals and provides them with the necessary structures for innovation and invention, said H E Dr. Ghaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari in his inaugural speech at an annual Ramadan programme ‘Amenhum Men Khawf' (saving them from fear). He said it was extremely urgent to develop a strategy to benefit from the immigrant Muslim minds, and that is perhaps the most important lesson which was learned from the COVID-19 pandemic. 'The efforts should be intensified to activate the mechanisms of Islamic reform between the conflicting and fighting factions, and to develop a plan for resolving disputes and activating the role of scholars' institutions in this regard, said the Minister. He said it is necessary to develop the capabilities of Islamic institutions to deal with moral and ideological differences and curb violence and extremism in Islamic societies. The Minister said that the development of the institutional work of scholars' institutions and jurisprudence colleges, and the strengthening of dialogue among them, is the easiest way to settle a religious discourse and to put an end of division and conflict of references in the Islamic world. He said it was necessary to adopt a plan to introduce the Islamic civilization and the tolerance of Islam, and to establish a link to monitor and refute what is published on the issue of hatred of Islam and Muslims. The Minister said that the mechanisms of dialogue with cultural and civilizational systems must be strengthened, and a plan for dialogue with the new orientalists should be implemented. He said that it is necessary to be aware of the danger of the new media, and work is needed to purge the electronic platforms in Islamic world to promote only useful things. The Minister said that it is imperative to bridge the technological gap that the Islamic world suffers from, and to make cooperation in order to create content that befits the Ummah of the Qur'an to take it to new heights and to protect its youth from dangerous ideas. He said that what is produced in the Arabic language in the field of Islamic studies, science and culture across the world is not equal to a third of what is written on it in other local and international languages, so the efforts should be made to accelerate and encourage translation from and into Arabic language for the new research in these fields. The first session of Ramadan programme ‘Amenhum Men Khawf', organised by the Ministry for the seventh year in a row, was held yesterday. The programme's sessions are being presented by a group of scholars from the Islamic world over three days, until May 4, through the social media accounts of the Ministry of Awqaf and the platform ‘Amenhum Men Khawf', within the framework of the activities of Doha Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2021.  MENAFN03052021000063011010ID1102016321
