Riyadh-based veterinary firm, Argentinian biotechnology company sign USD60M deal

(MENAFN)Riyadh-based veterinary service provider MAS Company inked a USD60 million agreement with Argentinian biotechnology company Biog�nesis B�go to set the Kingdom�s first foot-and-mouth (FMD) disease vaccine manufacturing plant. The official ceremony was approved by the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and hosted by Abdulrahman Al-Fadley, president of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority. FMD is an infectious virus among livestock animals that can hit humans, and the new deal plans to make Saudi Arabia the first Arab country to be free of the disease.
