KT&G makes donations to support communities affected by West Java earthquake

SEOUL, South Korea, Dec. 5, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- KT&G, a global company headquartered in South Korea has donated RP 300 million worth of disaster relief supplies to support the communities impacted by the 5.6 magnitude earthquake in West Java, Indonesia.

PT KT&G Indonesia, which is operating its business in Jakarta, delivered 100 sets of relief supplies to the National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB) and held the handover ceremony at the Cianjur Regency Office on December 2. The ceremony was attended by Yun Sig Jeong, President of PT KT&G Indonesia, Budi Rahayu Toyib, Director of Economy and Development of Cianjur District and other related officials.

The supplies, containing tents, blankets, bottled water, and other daily necessities needed in the aftermath of a disaster, will be delivered to the residents in Cianjur District through BNPB.

KT&G operates a sales corporation (PT KT&G Indonesia) and a manufacturing corporation (PT Trisakti Purwosari Makmur) in Jakarta and Malang, respectively. KT&G also has 35 sales branch offices throughout Indonesia and is actively engaging in businesses in Indonesia. The company has reached out with relief whenever a crisis has occurred in the local community over the past few years. In fact, KT&G promptly provided the relief fund when the earthquake hit Sulawesi in 2018. Moreover, as COVID-19 rapidly spread in Indonesia in 2020 and the medical equipment was in short supply, KT&G secured COVID-19 diagnostic kits from South Korea and delivered them to Indonesia. Last year, the company supplied medical oxygen generators and KF94 facial masks to medical clinics in Indonesia.
