Thursday 16 March, 2023A record amount was raised at this year’s Pop Up Art Weekend as over a thousand art enthusiasts descended on the Chilterns MS Centre in Wendover for its annual exhibition and sale which featured over 80 incredibly talented local artists covering a wide range of artistic styles from the more traditional landscapes to graffiti art.

The exhibition began with a special preview evening on the Friday night attended by many high profile figures including Rob Butler MP; Cllr Christopher Townsend, Mayor of Aylesbury; Cllr Tim Dixon, Mayor of Tring; Cllr Josephine Biss, Deputy Mayor of Princes Risborough; and Chris Williams, Trustee at the Clare Foundation which sponsored the event.

In total the charity raised almost £21,000 which will be used to support its work enabling people living with neurological conditions to live life to the full.

“The Pop-Up Art Weekend is our biggest fundraising event of the year and we are thrilled with how it went,” said Hannah Prentice, Community and Events Manager at the Chilterns MS Centre. “There was a real buzz around the Centre for the whole weekend, with people of all ages enjoying the amazing art on display and the equally impressive cake that our café was selling. I would just like to thank the incredible team of volunteers that helped make it all happen.”

The Chilterns MS Centre provides treatments and services to people with multiple sclerosis, empowering them to live healthier and happier lives. Last year the Centre began a pilot programme to open their services to people with other neurological conditions, starting with Parkinson’s and stroke survivors.
