Bernice King, the daughter of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., and president of the King Center, told Vatican News that at the present time, “I believe that my father would be guided by his philosophy of nonviolence, which corresponded with his following of Jesus Christ. I think he would remind us of how we arrived at this moment and of our history of violence, racism, and injustice as a nation.”
