DR Congo priest, wounded in attack on convent, dies (HumAngle (Nigeria))

Armed men in Kwilu Province (map) attacked a convent at a parish and killed Father Godefroid Pembele, according to Congolese French-language media reports.

“The bandits went there to steal because the parish was preparing to celebrate a ‘Mass of the first fruits’ for one of its priests who was just recently ordained,” said the mayor of Kikwit, the province’s largest city.
