A New York company is ready to sell a new portable hydrogen fuel cell charger that can put the juice back in your cell phone, iPod or GPS device just by adding a little water. The charger, which the company demonstrated at the International Consumer Electronics Show, is a pocket-size hydrogen fuel cell device that generates power from the chemical reaction of mixing sodium silicide and water. The concept of using clean, zero-emission hydrogen fuel cells to power everything from laptops to cars has been around for several years, but Signa has an actual product that is set to go on sale in May at outdoor clothing and gear retail chain REI. There were also 32-, 40- and 60-inch models without handles. Because they are still concepts, Sharp didn't place any kind of price tag on the Freestyles. Only 38 percent of viewers with Internet-connected TiVo units still watch shows live, while two-thirds of the viewing is done from a digital video recorder or other options such as video on demand, TiVo officials said at the electronics show. Granted, those 2 million boxes represent only a subset of the overall TV viewership, but other research has shown a clear shift in TV viewing habits in the digital age.
