Apple launched the M1 chip with much fanfare a few weeks ago, and it looks like the first devices running on Apple Silicon are already a huge hit in certain markets. Statistics provided for the Japanese market by analyst firm BCN Retail show Apple has become the number one PC maker in the country thanks to the new M1-powered devices, and if the same trend is maintained, there’s a good chance the gap versus the runner-up is further increased. Between August and November, Apple’s market share in the country was 15 percent when it comes to PC sales, but the debut of Apple Silicon gave the company a huge boost, propelling it to no less than 27.1 percent afterward.
