Apple Watch doesn’t have a stress level indicator like rival Garmin, but on the other hand, the data that its sensors collect can still be used for such readings. Sure, it’s not necessarily easy, but a group of Canadian researchers from the University of Waterloo, Canada discovered that the ECG sensor bundled with the Apple Watch can help in this regard. And as it turns out, the information that they put together for determining the stress levels is incredibly accurate. More specifically, the researchers analyzed data provided by the ECG readings, including heart accelerator and deceleration, to build a prediction model that would try to guess the stress level of the person wearing the Apple Watch. Because the estimates were very close to the stress levels reported by the participants in the study, the researchers then started to refine the prediction model in a way that would make it more accurate. No stress level indicator on the Apple Watch… yet
