Ex-Deputy Is Sentenced to 18 Years After Mental Health Patients Drowned in Van

A former deputy was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and reckless homicide in the deaths of two women who drowned in 2018 after he drove through floodwaters caused by Hurricane Florence.
