Sen. Laphonza Butler (D-Calif.), who Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom appointed to replace the deceased Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) in the Senate just 18 days ago, announced Thursday she would not run for the office in 2024.
