Russia will deploy its newest howitzers to the Northern Military District, which borders Finland and Norway. The testing of the Coalition-SV self-propelled artillery units is complete, and mass production has begun. The first batch will be delivered by the end of 2023. These howitzers are needed to gain an advantage over Western artillery models in terms of firing range. President Putin changed the status of the Russian Northern Fleet to the Northern Military District, incorporating the Murmansk region. Single Coalition-SV howitzers have already been deployed to the frontline in Ukraine.
