Former DSU Professor Sues School For $22 Million

A former dixie state professor has filed a 22 million dollar lawsuit against current staff at the university.

The once-tenured professor was fired in 2015... and accuses dixie state of ruining his reputation and unjustly letting him go.

She claimed he pulled her hair during a theater acting class.

A jury acquitted him last summer.

But he says dixie state is still preventing him from working as a professor.

Varlo davenport's multi-million dollar lawsuit accuses high-ranking dixie state employees - including president "biff" williams - of having a vendetta against the former theater professor even before he was fired.

While former students rallied in his support, davenport claims in his support, davenport claims the school falsified and concealed information that would work in his favor.

The university's general council tells abc4 the allegations in the lawsuit are false, and the school complied with proper termination procedures.
