pretty special delmarva sports insider from earlier tonight. yeah, tonight we held our third annual dsi coaches conference here in our 47 abc studios and it could not have gone any better. coaches and players from both the henlopen and bayside conferences joined travon miles and myself in studio for a very special, hour long dsi earlier this evening to talk everything footbaltb there was a fantastic turnout for the third annual coaches conference as players and coaches from seven local school's made the trip into downtown salisbury to discuss their teams heading into the 2017 season. featured conferences included the bayside north and south along with the north and south from the henlopen as well. tray and i were also joined by head coaches james mccormick, jake coleman, brendan riley, brian hanson, dave hearn, and preston grace from north caroline, cambridge south-dorchester, parkside, wihi, delmar and woodbridge along with james m bennett assistant coach dustin mills. this was a show intentioned to revolve around anything and everything high school football including our 2017 preseason power rankings for the upcoming season. each coach had the opportunity to touch on their programs and give us a glimpse of what to expect come september. now noom high school to the pro's and those washington nationals who played host to the mets earlier today. gio gonzalez getting the start for the nats and getting by with a little help from his friends. wilmer flores wth the base knock up the middle but michael taylor with an absolute sniper from center. he keeps this one scoreless after throwing out asdrubel cabrera at the plate. washington would take advantage of some sloppy play in the bottom half. wilmer difo able to score after a wild pitch gets away from robert gsellman and then adrian sanchez with the two rbi base knock into left with the bases juiced later in the inning. nats led four to nothing after the first. and sealing the deal in the 8th up 8-4. difo rips one through the right side scoring daniel murphy from second. difo finished the day with two hits a pair of runs and that rbi as the nationals top the mets 9 to 4. the orioles also in action earlier today visiting the red sox and the bats continued to stay red hot for the o's. mark trumbo breaks this one open in the second bringing around trey mancini. then later in the inning, craig gentry bloops one into shallow center between three red sox fielders. chris davis comes into score as the o's take a two run lead. second inning not going to well for the sox as the very next batter, tim beckham, sends one deep and out. that three-run homer extends the lead to five. and just for a little extra fun. jonathan scope gonna rack up his 28th long ball of the year in the 8th. orioles win their third straight seven-nothing with starter kevin gausman securing his 10th win of the season going seven plus innings and allowing no earned runs. . let's also take a quick look at the ravens who hosted the bills tonight in their third preseason game. one sack and an interception for the ravens defense who also forced and recovered two fumbles on the night. not much passing for the ravens in this one, only dropping back for 25 attempts however they did complete 16 of those for 117 yards and a touchdown as they take it 13 to 9.
