A community meeting is set for Wednesday night in hopes of tackling an increase in crime on Madison’s west side, specifically things like car thefts, thefts from vehicles and burglaries.

Police say at least 39 cars were stolen in madison last month alone... a third of those thefts happened on the west side of the city.

The police chief will join a dane county judge to talk about the kids they believe are responsible for those crimes.

Josh spreiter is live on the city's west side looking ahead to that neighborhood meeting.

Neighbors will get the chance to talk about a rash of recent thefts in the area.

There's a meeting at the our redeemer lutheran church from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight.

Many city leaders will be there including alder barbara harrington- mckinney who joins me live this morning.
