Eiffel Tower a More Popular Spot for Brits to Visit Than Stonehenge

Stonehenge is one of the wonders of the world and perhaps the most famous prehistoric monument, built about 5,000 year ago!????((VO-England/People))??So you would think, most people who live anywhere near it, would add it to their bucket list of sites to visit!

Well, a new study shows that is just not the case.????((VO-Rentalcars.com logo/Stonehenge))??The research, conducted by One Poll and commissioned by Rentalcars.com found that less than half of the British population has visited Stonehenge.

And get this -- one in twenty of those surveyed never even heard of the place!????((VO-Eiffel Tower))??And even worse, more than half of those polled admitted they had taken a trip to Paris and even seen the very popular Eiffel Tower.????((VO-Stonehenge))??This must make Stonehenge feel like chopped liver!????((VO-British People))??A few other top sights many Brits haven’t seen before include Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married, the Roman Baths and Blackpool Tower, which was actually inspired by the Eiffel Tower.????((VO-Stonehenge))??Some of the locals did start to feel bad, with more than 60 percent admitting that they should spend more time exploring the sights and landmarks on their own doorstep.????((VO))??And at the very least, if you don’t get a chance to be a tourist in your own town….at least be aware that some pretty historic sites are just a hop skip and jump away!????
