Trump's Border Wall Address
On Tuesday President Trump will attempt to plead his case with Americans, urging that a border wall is desperately needed to solve what he deems a crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Trump is also attempting to follow through on a campaign promise in a dispute that has ignited an 18-day partial government shut-down.
Reuters reports Trump is contemplating declaring the border wall a national emergency, which might possibly get him out of an impasse by enabling him to bypass Congress’ mandate to approve federal spending and to build the wall without its approval.
Trump’s prime-time address, at 9 p.m.
Will be his most recent attempt to convince Democrats to back his push for a steel barrier on the southern border.
