Well-Behaved Inmates Wait For Release Due To Error In U.S. Prisons Law
Thanks to a new criminal justice law put in place last month, many U.S. prisoners were expecting earlier release for good behavior.
But due to an error in the bill, those inmates have to keep waiting until the White House fixes the mistake.
Potentially thousands of inmates could be affected by the error in the First Step Act.
A Justice Department spokesman said the department is analyzing changes for the law and plans to “carry out all necessary steps.”
