Japan's Olympic Committee Takeda Denies Impropriety In Bid Process

Reuters reports that the head of Japan’s Olympic Committee has confirmed he was questioned by French authorities in December.

Tsunekazu Takeda continues to deny there was anything improper about Tokyo’s bid for the 2020 Games.

Takeda told reporters there is no reason to doubt Japan’s interactions and assured authorities he would cooperate fully.

French financial prosecutors are investigating a multi-million dollar payment made by the bid committee to a Singaporean consultancy.
