May to parliament: We need to 'hold our nerve' over Brexit

ROUGH CUT.

NO REPORTER NARRATION.

British Prime Minister Theresa May said on Tuesday (February 12) that she believed she could reach a Brexit deal that parliament could support, allowing Britain to leave the European Union on March 29.

May was making a statement to parliament updating lawmakers on her negotiations with the EU to secure changes to the Brexit deal.

She reiterated that she did not see a customs union as proposed by the opposition Labour Party as the way to secure agreement.

The United Kingdom is on course to leave the European Union on March 29 without a deal unless May can convince the bloc to amend the divorce deal she agreed in November and then sell it to skeptical British lawmakers.
