If President Trump decides to pardon his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, then the state of New York is standing by, ready to file charges.????Two anonymous sources familiar with the matter told Bloomberg News that New York County District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. has already prepared a case featuring several tax and other charges against Manafort.????President Trump has not ruled out a pardon for Manafort…????...who was convicted of eight felonies and plead guilty to two more as a direct result of Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.????Bloomberg reports that months before Manafort was charged by Mueller’s team, prosecutors in Vance’s office where investigating the political consultant.????Sources also told Bloomberg that while much of the evidence came to light through Mueller’s investigation, Vance’s team simply cannot cut and paste charges when it comes to a state indictment…????...citing New York’s double jeopardy law which is reportedly more stringent than the federal one saying an individual cannot be tried twice for the same crime.????Manafort is scheduled to be sentenced for his federal crimes in March, where prosecutors for Mueller’s investigation have recommended a sentence of up to 24 years in prison for the 69-year-old.
