According to a report by Comicbook.com, late Monday night, Conor McGregor announced his retirement from the sport of MMA.

UFC boss Dana White reportedly shared his thoughts on McGregor's impromptu departure from competition, praising the 30 year-old Irishman and eulogizing his illustrious fighting career.

In a text with with ESPN's Bret Okamoto, White wrote, "He has accomplished incredible things in this sport.
