Sudan Defense Minister Resigns As Head Of Transitional Military Council

According to a report by Reuters, on Friday, Sudan's Defense Minister Awad Ibn Auf said that he would be stepping down as head of the country's transitional military council, just one day after former president Omar al-Bashir was overthrown in a coup.

Reuters reports that in a speech broadcast on state television Friday, Ibn Auf said that Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman Burhan will be appointed as the new head of the transitional military council.
