ROUGH CUT.

NO REPORTER NARRATION.

Several thousand mainly left-wing demonstrators gathered in front of the seat of Austria's government on Thursday (May 30) for a rally that was also a concert celebrating the right-wing coalition's demise.

Austria's parliament on Monday (May 27) ousted Chancellor Sebastian Kurz's government in the wake of a video sting scandal that felled the leader of the far-right Freedom Party and blew up its coalition with Kurz.

Thursday's event featured the Vengaboys, a Dutch band whose '90s hit "We're Going to Ibiza" has become the anthem of anti-right-wing protesters because the sting video was filmed on that resort island.

Demonstrators were also pleased about President Alexander Van der Bellen's announcement earlier on Thursday that he had picked judge Brigitte Bierlein as interim chancellor.

Bierlein will be tasked with putting together a cabinet that will have parliament's backing until the next election, which is expected to be held in September.

She will be Austria's first female chancellor.
