Snow Falls in Queensland as Severe Weather Sweeps East Coast
A significant amount of snow fell in parts of Queensland for the first time in four years, the Bureau of Meteorology reported in a weather alert on June 4.
A cold front brought snowfall, icy temperatures, strong wind and rain to communities near the Queensland-New South Wales border.
This video, shared to Facebook by a local photographer, shows snow falling near the Girraween National Park near Stanthorpe, in the Darling Downs region of Queensland.
Snow also fell in areas across New South Wales including the Blue Mountains, Yass Valley, and Goulburn while strong winds and rain lashed Sydney, causing dangerous sea swells.
