These Three 'Game of Thrones' Stars Nominated Themselves for Emmys

These Three 'Game of Thrones' Stars Nominated Themselves for Emmys HBO’s show ’Game of Thrones’ recently swept the Emmy nominations with a total of 32 nominations.

Among them were Alfie Allen for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series, Gwendoline Christie for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series and Carice van Houten for outstanding guest actress in a drama series.

These ‘Game of Thrones’ stars were not entered by HBO for Emmy consideration, but rather paid the $225 entry fee themselves.

HBO did however successfully nominate Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams. It is not uncommon for shows with a multitude of series regulars to limit their choices, but it is uncommon that those who self-submit themselves end up receiving the nomination.
