CNN reports Italy's Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte is resigning.

In an hour-long speech, Conte made the announcement to the Italian Senate on Tuesday.

Conte launched a scathing attack on Matteo Salvini, the right-wing Interior Minister and the leader of the League party.

Conte accused him of putting the national interest at risk in order to advance the his own personal interests.
