Now 70 Years Old, Parole Denied To Charles Manson Follower

Newser reports Charles Manson follower Leslie Van Houten has been denied parole.

A California appellate court rejected the 70-year-old's latest bid for freedom, citing the "extreme gravity" of her crime.

Van Houten helped to murder Leo and Rosemary LaBianca in August 1969.

The judges also cited Van Houten's continued "minimization" of what role she played in the slayings.
