Graham 'Encouraged' By Pentagon's Plan To Deal With Syrian Chaos
US military leaders are preparing a plan in the fallout of President Donald Trump's about-face in Syria.
Trump recently and abruptly ordered the withdrawal of US troops from Kurdish-held northeastern Syria.
According to Reuters, the goal is to keep Islamic State fighters from regaining a foothold in Syria.
At the same time, it's to keep Syrian oil from falling into the hands of Iran or the militant group.
Sen.
Lindsey Graham (R-SC) received a briefing from the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on Thursday.
Sen.
Graham told reporters he was 'encouraged' and that the plan 'may work.'
There’s a plan coming together...that may give us what we need to prevent ISIS from coming back, Iran taking the oil, ISIS from taking the oil.
