News8 highlight zone, i'm ken kosirowski.

And i'm jordan fremstad.

Jim mora used to say playoffs?

Don't talk about playoffs?

Well tonight we can absolutely talk playoffs--it's level one in wisconsin prep football.

We've got eight area football games coming your way and some additional score reports from those who had to travel in this first round.

Up first, is two seed onalaska in division 3.

That's right, a hilltopper team led by a hungry defense and a balanced offense.

They've got seven seed monroe, a team with a couple talented runners in the backfield.

So let's get to it, we join late in the second quarter... hilltoppers trailing.... austin larson with a long heave to hudson weber.... weber with a couple nice moves... 83 yards total ... hilltoppers take the lead 18-17.

Two point try no good.

--------------- jump to the third quarter ... hilltoppers tailing by five.

But nathan lubinsky punches it in.... onalaska back on top ... they go up 24-23.

----------------- late third quarter .... cheesemakers slicing into the endzone.

Nick bansley take the hand off and he punches it in.

Monroe connects on the two point conversion ... they go up 31-24.

--------------- same score late in the fourth quarter... it's the larson weber connection again.... hilltoppers into the endzone ... -------------- that sets up this ... hilltoppers going for two... but the monroe defense stuffs lubinsky... that's the deciding play onalaska is going home early, 31-30 your final.

Also in division three ... sparta falls at reedsburg... division two action .... holmen destroys watertown 36-10.

Brett holden ran 28 times for 262 yards and 3 scores.

And central loses a heartbreaker at milton.

We have a couple one seeds from our area, and one of them is g-e-t out in division 5.

G-e-t opening the post season hosting 2-7 marshall.

Redhawks down early but luke vance gets them on the board from seven yards out.

2-point conversion gives them a 8-6 lead.

------------------ two minutes left in the half... g-e-t even confuses our photographer but vance comes out of the pile and..... he gone.

62 yards to the house.

Redhawks up 16- 6.

------------------- with about four to play in the third quarter... bryce burns gets in on the action as he takes it in from 20 yards out to give the redhawks a 12 point lead.

-------------------- here we go again... to put the game out of reach... luke vance with blockers in front of him.

75 yards.

Touchdown.

He had 10 carries for 204 yards and four t-d's.

G-e-t gets the win 48-18.

Aquinas trying for their first playoff win since 2012, against platteville... -- we're tied at 7, tyler mcclain throwing the swing route, and the receiver coughs up the football, michael lium pounces on it for the turnover... -- and on that ensuing drive, matthew reutemann takes it up the middle, and he won't be denied, blugolds take a 14-76 lead in the second... -- now late in the second, the freshman flottmeyer airing it downfield but it's into the waiting hands of mcclain... -- in the third, third down for the hillmen, mcclain chased out of the pocket and riley haag comes up with the big sack, and aquinas will see get next week thanks to a 28-7 win.

Prairie du chien is the two seed in that region, they've got new glarus who have an active passing attack..

------------ in the first quarter pdc driving but new glarus gets the big goal line stop with a interception from connor siegenthaler keeping tied at 0.

------------ two plays later new glarus strikes as mason martinson finds darris schuett who makes a one- handed catch and takes it 60+ yards giving the knights a 7-0 lead.

------------ but in the second quarter pdc strikes back as dylan coleman takes it himself from 8 yards out putting the blackhawks on the board, but they miss their point after trailing 7-6.

------------ nearing halftime pdc driving again, and this time coleman finds his favorite receiver ben riter for the touchdown giving the blackhawks a 12-7 lead going into half after a failed 2-point attempt.

------------ 35-14 is the final as pdc rolls on to level 2.

So it's all smiles from our area in that region.

And it's usually all smiles when bangor's playing football.

Cardinals are a top seed in division 7 this year.

They've got webster, cardinals up 7-0 early... ---- second quarter....carte r horstman going up the middle....get out of his way!....lowers his shoulder and makes it 14-0 bangor..... ---- he wasn't done yet...next drive....goes left side and reaches for the goal line...he's in...horstman scores four touchdowns in the first half...cardinals lead 26 to nothing at the break.... ---- second half...defense coming up big for the cardinals....webs ter taking to the air....coleton peterson lets it fly deep....but it's zane langrehr who steps in front of it....and langrehr is going to reverse field...and take this one all the way back to the tigers 25.... ---- and that sets up mathieu osterle two plays later....he takes the handoff and weaves through the defense for another touchdown..... horstman runs for 193 yards and the defense holds webster to 69 total yards.

Over to 3 seed brookwood hosting six seed reedsville ----- opening drive for reedsville...faci ng a third down and needing two yards....brennan dvorachek says "how does 36 sound?".....he takes it right up and the gut and scores....panthe rs jump ahead by seven.... ---- brookwood looking to respond....but they have trouble with the snap and reedsville jumps on it....they take over in falcons territory.... ---- and the panthers take full advantage....dvo rachek rolling out to his right...follows his blockers... and sprints down the sidelines for his second score of the quarter....the panthers too much tonight they blank brookwood 31-0.

Coming up...... "nats - band playing" welcome news 8 highlight zone.

Let's resume some d7 action, shall we?

Alright, let's get out to two seed blair- taylor.

This game started with an early score from the beavers....but the wildcats answer....cain fremstad finds matthew waldera in the flat....he shreds a tackle and he's off to the endzone....46 yards...the extra point makes it 7-6 blair taylor.

------------------- then the defense makes a play....nick shepherd picks off traven fabian's pass....but the wildcasts miss on a field goal...they still lead by just a point.

------------------ but the defense was tough in the first half....fabian tries to pass....but it's a no fly zone in waldera's corner tonight....he joins the i-n-t club to give the ball back to his offense.

------------------- just over three to go in the half... fremstad using his legs....shakes some tackles....touch down wildcats...they lead my 8.

------------------- just before halftime....it's fremstad to waldera again..... this time 27 yards....his second t-d of the half......b-t is moving on...they win 35-14.
