A local leader she's able to tell her story.

News 18's marvin bills has this story.

17-year-old autumn kauffman thought she was in this gym exercising alone when she was on this treadmill behind me and fainted.

Although thankfully she wasn't.

Take a look at this video.

You can see kauffman running on the treadmill then suddenly stop.

Moments later..

She faints.

"i started like, it felt like heartburn and then i had a really tight chest and i felt lots of pressure."

Kauffman visits the gym at least six times a week.

Although this isn't the first time she's passed out.

"i remember how felt when i've done it before.

So a couple seconds before i actually passed out i was like, i think i'm about to faint."

"everything kind of went black and i just passed out."

The difference here is that no one was around.

At least not to her knowledge.

Until carroll county sheriff deputy, mike hobbs shows up.

"i was in the middle of my shift.

We get an hour of pt time.

So i come in, got my work out in and was changing to head back out to my shift- when out the corner of his eye as he was leaving he noticed something unusual.

"i happen to look over at her and i saw that she almost look like she was getting ready to lose her legs and maybe lose consciousness.

She was kind of shaking a little bit."

That's when hobbs says he ran over to help.

He called medics and made sure she was ok.

"luckily she fell on top of the treadmill.

But the risk of injury with it being a cement floor, she could have fell and cracked her head."

He hopes this will shine a positive light on, not only the community, but local law enforcement as well.

"i hope this is something where it shows, you know, we are the good guys and we are willing to do whatever it takes to keep people happy and safe."

And as for kauffman- "i'm also really grateful that deputy hobbs was here and anyone would have been here.

Cause he was able to call the ambulance for me and help get me checked out."

In carroll county, marvin bills news 18.

Kauffman has scheduled a doctos appointment with a cardiologist to find out what her condition may be.
