NSA Ajit Doval addressed a conference of young police officers in Gurugram.
He said that police is responsible for executing and enforcing the laws made by legislators.
He said that when a perception of a fair and credible police is created, people have a sense of confidence in the force.
He said that if police fails to enforce laws then democracy will fail.
