Paradise is one step closer to clean water throughout the entire town 16 months after the Camp Fire.

16 months after the camp fire, paradise is one step closer to clean water throughout the entire town.

Action news now reporter christina vitale shows updates us tonight on the continuing efforts of the paradise irrigation district.

Pid has finished testing all known standing homes and businesses in paradise..

Those pid customers should receive a letter in the mail saying their water advisory has been lifted by the end of march.

District manager kevin phillips says out of the more than 1500 meters they tested less than 400 came back positive for contamination... and pid replaced those service lines.

Phillips says now pid is working to sustain the district sot:but also to focus heavily on the customers of pid to get the people living up there potable water and people rebuilding to get new infrastructure so they feel comfortable for the next 20 30 50 years they'll live up here since the camp fire pid has supplied bottled water for drinkingãbut now thanks to a 25,500 dollar grant pid bought these reusable 5 gallon jugs for people who still don't have potable water.

Standup: and you can fill them up at any time right here at the service station behind pid's building the jugs are free for pid customers and you can pick them up during their office hours.

Action news now spoke paradise neighbor laura hill who fills about 30 of her own jugs twice per week.

Sot: hill tells me with the new jug pid is providing it'll cut the time it takes for her to get water for her family -- which right now she says is usually about 30 minutes.

Me: what's important on these jugs to point out is this little sticker here it says to make sure you sanitize and clean it each time before reusing and there are directions on here... in paradise christina vitale action news now coverage you can count on.

Pid says until april 30 the jugs will only be for customers living on their property's -- after that the jugs will be available to the rest of the people in butte county -- affected by the camp fire.# bill gates says he's
