The o-c-h regional medical center says people with coronavirus symptoms have a drive up location where they can get tested.

The test is not free and you must have a recommendation from a doctor or health professional.

Wtva's wayne hereford joins us live from outside the clinic where several people were tested today.

The huxford clinic is located here on strange road in starkville not far from the och regional medical center.

I spoke with the doctor here who told me healthcare workers want to do all they can to get people tested for the coronavirus.

"absolutely.

These days and times we need to he careful , we need to be sure."

Vangie lee came to get tested for coronavirus.

Nurses??

Told her she will need a doctor's recommendation.

She said she will be back if necessary.

"once i feel like i have the symptoms , and have talked with my doctor's office i will come back."

The huxford clinic has a tent outside with the necessary testing supplies so that people like vangie can just drive up and get tested for the coronavirus.

We spoke with dr. huxford.

(dr .

Cameron huxford - huxford clinic) "we're prepared we have the equipment , we have the ventilators for a worse case scenario but we're prayerful that it doesn't come to that."

Standup.."by late afternoon, there were not as many cars coming in here at the clinic .but the good doctor here says he will be here at the clinic for as long as it takes to make sure that everyone who wants to get tested here in starkvkille has a chance to do so."

"you have to have an order , a nurse practitioner , dentist, physician, you have to have an order to get the test that's all that 's required."

To get the test dr. huxford says you must show symptoms and a fever.

The nurses at the clinic say they are ready for whatever comes their way..

(tracy madison-nurse tech) " we 're risking not being able to be home with our families just like everybody else.

Everybody else think's they're at home having an extended spring break but we are here helping to keep our streets protected."

Dr. huxford says that there were some nine people tested by early this afternoon.

But he believes that things will pick up once the word gets out that he and his nurses are testing.
