Managers at the Driftwood Shores Resort in Florence said so far the number of guests has been consistent with what they normally see this time of year.

On spring break plans.

Reporter michael sevren shows us how they're scrapping travel to landmark destinations, and instead, sticking closer to home.

At the end of april, jon paul and his friends had plans had to go to las vegas for the n-f-l draft.

But the chips didn't fall as planned.

Those events were canceled and he's not flying anywhere.

Sot: i was disappointed i've only been to vegas one time so going back would be fun.

Instead, he's planning a getaway to the coast with his wife.

They say they have had some cancellations, and nearly as many new reservations made.

Sot: we may try and rent a dune buggy if they are still in operation or we like to go the old towns and just kind of check out the smaller shops.

They're also planning to get fresh air by going on hikes, something he's been doing more often.

Public health experts say there is nothing wrong with spending time outdoors if your healthily.

But they say be mindful of how you get there, and don't spend too much time in cars with other people.
