Well its a collaborative effort -- today she dropped off sewing kits here at the terraces assisted living center for residents to help sew masks for each other.

Alexandra kriz who is apart of the group called 'butte county made with love masks' -- partnered with project save... one project they're working on is creating masks for those who are in our assisted living centers.

Kriz says -- after they conducted a survey --12 hundred masks have been requested for our elderly community members.

The group's effort is to create as many masks as possible for health care workers and the most vulnerable.

When i see this happening on such a large scale i know that theres a shortage of supplies that are going to keep our nurses and healthcare professionals and any member of a hospital operation its critical for them to know how much everybody here cares about them and has their back so that we can move forward together and get through this project save is a chico based organization that salvages excess medical supplies.

The organization has about 23 thousand n-95 masks, but the elastic is worn out on them.... so volunteers are helping repurpose them for use.

The north valley community foundation funded 22 hundred dollars to cover the cost to repair the elastic.
