Right now -- bars and restaurants are closed... but bands aren't staying silent.a fundraiser for venues closed from covid 19 going on right now... all online.fox 55's chris mullooly joins us live with more.chris...hunter... no better place to watch a concert right now.take a listen to the band here...they are called calloused... they are out of south bend but play in fort wayne a lot...and told me before they went on they're 'honored' to get a change to continue to play and raise money for those who need it.

Its a different type of walk around muse on main in fort wayne.usually bustling with energy...now closed...the sign showing the tough times ahead."canceled everything all summer everything theres no shows" thousands of service industry workers without jobs...and now... the bands who show up on weekends to do what they love... are out of jobs too... and with covid 19..

Steve sommers says..

Out of options.

How can you expect to get on a state with a national act and expect to hold your head high his band calloused wasn't sure when the next gig would be... until he saw a post online...a grassroots start up to live stream events and raise money...started by this guy..

John foxworthy.i posted on faecbook i'm a local musician i thought abuot farm aid and how local musicians came together for farmes and i said we can do that we have such a great music scenefrom there... it exploded... what usually takes weeks to get a couple bands together... took hours for 70 bands to reach outwe had ppl reaching out from all different genresnow on one facebook page... bands set the times they want to play or release music.mission is to unite the fw music scene to raise money for the folks that are hurtinggiving calloused more chances to reach out to the public... raise money... and keep rockin on.what about those hourly workers who are there for every band to go through they cant feed their kids either but you can still do what you do on a cyber platform so... get your phone in your hand... type in fort wayne bar aid..

You'll be able to see this..good news if you're busy and catching this late... they'll have live streams running tomorrow and sunday night..

And they hope to have them daily until at least april sixth.reporting live ... chris mullooly... fox 55 news.
