### during a news conference on thursday, pulaski county judge- executive stephen kelley announced the first death in the county due to coronavirus.

He says 62 year old david pitman has died.

Somerset mayor, alan keck says... pittman worked for the city and had to retire due to a bout with cancer.

He says prior to contracting covid- 19, pitman was dealing with pneumonia.

Pitman's son dustin, took to social media about his father's death, to urge people to take this pandemic seriously and to take all the necessary precautions to keep it from spreading.

"this is nothing to play around with.

People need to stay home, get groceries, essentials...one person at a time and get their butt back hoome.

Or at least if they need to get out, be smart about it, drive around and don't get out.

Lay in your yard, just like the good old days.

My dad was a strong man, fought cancer and survived."

Judge kelley says it was news he was hoping he wouldn't have to deliver, and took some time to also talk about the importance of social distancing and following the state and federal safety guidelines...for everyon'e protection.
