A heroic engineering student from northern Italy has helped the fight against COVID-19 by 3D printing valves for ventilators that are needed for patients suffering from coronavirus.

Footage captured on April 2, shows how the machine is working to create the valves.

Further footage shows the collection of already made valves.

The filmer explained: "I was asked to 3D print these ventilator valves to help with the COVID situation we have in Italy.

"These valves are part of an Italian project to use scuba diving masks as ventilators in our hospitals.

"Since I have a pretty simple 3D printer I tried to increase my time efficiency by automating the removal of the finished parts and the start of the next print.

"I need to stress out that I did not invent these valves, I just implemented the right 3D printing technique for the right application." A 3D printing franchise asked people to help with the fight against COVID-19.
