Local renter says Governor Brown's new rule on evictions isn't helpful

She has recently been fourloughed.

Renee there's no point.

You still have to pay it.

She doesn't believe govenor kate browns latest changes is helping people like her.

Renee no because if you don't pay then you will get evicted so you might as well try and figure out how to pay it right away.

On the apartment complex side.

Companies still need to pay their mortages and utilitiy bills even if some renters can pay.

We are hoping that it will have as little of impact as possible for us as a company.

Danette jones is the director of operations at charles point in medford.

She says the complex has talked to almost every resident to see first of all how they are doing in this pandemic.

And also seeing if they can pay rent.

Danette that's really important to us as a company.

We are a family owned business.

We are doing our best to treat everyone with respect and care.

So far she says most people are able to pay rent this month.

Multiple e-mails have been sent out giving information to people that have been fired or fourloughed.

Including unemployment options.

Danette we figured that in the month of april those services will be coming down the pipe, whatever that looks like.

And hopefully by the end of april everyone should have a good idea what this, the new normal, is for them.
