German clowns visit elderly homes amid lockdown

For the elderly residents of the Wachtelwinkel seniors home in Brandenburg in eastern Germany, a little clowning around goes a long way.

We don’t want to leave them alone though.

We thought, ‘what could we do?’ How could we give them a moment of joy?

Then we got the idea to just do it outdoors.

We’ll go on the balcony, if people can go outside, they can see us and we can bring them closer despite the distance.”
